Clean-Dezert to Receive 2023 ORMHOF Land Use Donation

Congratulations to Clean-Dezert for being selected to receive the 2023 ORMHOF Land Use Donation.

Each year the Off-Road Motorsports Hall of Fame sets aside a percentage of funds received from members and partners to contribute back to the off-road community in the form of a Land Use Donation. This year a donation of $5,000.00 will be presented to Clean-Dezert at the Induction & Awards Gala on Saturday, September 9 at the South Point in Las Vegas. For Gala tickets and information click here.

Clean-Dezert is a California-based volunteer organization founded in 2005 by Adam Filbin and Ray Regno.

Hardworking Clean-Dezert volunteers, making a difference.

"We were just a couple of 'white fender kids'," said Adam, "looking to do something positive for the off-road community and to help prevent BLM land closures, and give back to the land and volunteers."

Clean-Dezert coordinators provide instructions and hand out trash bags to volunteers.

Clean-Dezert works with other land use organizations and race promoters including San Diego Off-Road Coalition and Mad Media, promoters of the California 300 and Mint 400 desert races. Clean-Dezert volunteers are well taken care of, with raffles for adults and kids, and a big thank-you barbecue served after each Clean-Dezert clean up event.

Clean-Dezert events include raffles for volunteers -- both adults and kids.

“We’ve been doing cleanups in California for over a decade,” Adam told ORMHOF. “But things have really kicked into gear for us these past few years. We’ve had a tremendous amount of volunteer and sponsor support – and that’s allowed us to schedule multiple cleanups per year in multiple locations."

Clean-Dezert's next clean up will take place on November 11, 2023 in Barstow, California. For more information email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

"This donation from the Off-Road Motorsports Hall of Fame will help with operating costs and help us give back to our volunteers," Adam said. “We’re a small cog in everything that happens, without sponsors and volunteers -- everyone’s support -- there is no Clean-Dezert.”

About the Off-Road Motorsports Hall of Fame

The Off-Road Motorsports Hall of Fame was established in 1978 by racing promoter and NORRA founder Ed Pearlman to recognize and honor those individuals and organizations whose lifelong contributions to off-road motorsports have set a standard for others to follow. In 1995, legendary off-road racer Rod Hall became ORMHOF chairman, a position he held for more than twenty years, before selecting current chairman Mark McMillin as his successor.

The mission of the Off-Road Motorsports Hall of Fame is to educate and inspire present and future generations of the off-road community by celebrating the achievements of those who came before.  Off-Road Motorsports Hall of Fame inductees represent excellence and achievement in many areas of off-road, including advocacy, journalism, industry, rock sports, desert racing, short course, and rally.

ORMHOF maintains a collection of vintage off-road vehicles that are displayed at museums around the country, as well as an extensive online archive of print, images, and videos, with more content added as funds become available.  The Hall of Fame Off-Road Registry invites clubs, organizations, events, businesses, and individuals with fifty years or more of history in off-road to apply for Hall of Fame heritage status in the official archives of the Off-Road Motorsports Hall of Fame.

The Off-Road Motorsports Hall of Fame is funded through donations, individual memberships, and industry partners. A 501c non-profit organization, ORMHOF has earned a GuideStar Non-Profit Gold Seal of Transparency for 2023.

ORMHOF is guided by an all-volunteer board of leaders in the off-road community, including chairman Mark McMillin and board members Frank ‘Butch’ Arciero Jr, Dave Cole, Frank DeAngelo, Bud Feldkamp, Jeff Furrier, Bob Ham, Josh Hall, Gary Haugley, Rich Klein, Rafael Navarro III, Fardad Niknam, Bonnie Vessels, and Rory Ward.
